#292 – Torus

When did donuts become a breakfast food? When I was growing up they were a special treat that I would get every once in awhile after a meal. Now when we get “breakfast” served to us as a reward at work it’s mostly cupcakes, donuts, coffe cake and a few bagels.

“Why is there a can of whipped cream here?”

“Oh that’s for the coffee!”

Today’s Biff gets some fresh air.

I have no idea when sugar became a breakfast staple. But I do love it! Hot, chocolate frosted Krispy Kreme became a regular thing in grad school until the calories caught up with me.

hmm Im not sure how many donuts there were. Im assuming probably at least 5 o r 6 dozen at minimum .The fact he could eat all of them in a few minutes would impress and or scare me more then anything .
I think donuts were always a breakfast treat at least the past 25 years or more Id say.Just more a thing at offices then anything really.that and the sterotypical cops having donuts

When I was younger (I’m nearly 18) donuts had always been a special treat for breakfast when my dad had been out buying car parts all morning and forgot to make us breakfast. All he had to do was stop off at a shop on his way home and order a box (which came with one of everything)

I imagine that after eating so many dozens of donuts all that sugar high gives him so much energy he burns it off and that’s why he stays so thin……perhaps?….

It’s a quick grab, quick energy thing. Unless it’s part of a Luther, then it’s better used to slow down those people who seem to be a little too hyper in the mornings.

The sugar for breakfast thing doesn’t seem so popular in the UK at least (Unless you count chocolate or sugar in cereals which we seem to be OK with now, if only to get our kids to actually eat breakfast). We usually leave pastries, donuts and cakes until at last the first tea break at work.
