I draw my comics at a standing desk. One of the benefits is if I ever need to leave my desk for something I instantly do it. It’s very easy to walk over somewhere else in the house when I’m already standing. When I’m sitting in a chair and writing it’s a whole different story. “I’m really thirsty. I should go get my glass of water I left over there. Hmm… well, my wife will be home in a few hours. She’ll walk right past it. I can just wait until then.”
I’ve lived in a few apartment buildings where the landlord has to show up and flip a master switch to change the system from heat to cool. This always takes about 2 weeks longer than it would have if she lived there. My favorite apartment had the master switch in my unit. I was always pleased with my decisions.
There’s plenty of stuff that really seems more of an engineering feat than food. But it’s still delicious. Sweet sweet chemicals.
