One time I put down my phone so I could search all my pockets for my phone.
That was an awkward moment.
Occasionally I get “phantom vibrations” where my pocket is, even when my phone isn’t in my pocket, and so I check to see if someone is calling/texting me.
Sometimes… sometimes this happens while my phone is in my hands and I’m looking right at it, and I still check my pocket for my phone.
I’m glad I’m not the only one.

I so rarely use my phone as a phone that I panic when I’m using it as a phone and can’t find my magic information portal.
that’s not as bad as looking for your glasses when you’re actually wearing them

Sometimes I stand up and get that lopsided something-is-missing-from-my-pocket feeling and discover quickly that its my phone that’s out of place. I then mumble ‘where’s my phone’ and begin looking around me for where it might have fallen/been left.
Then I realize how stupid this must have sounded to the person on the other end of the phone call.
