#744 – Turn

Chapter: Comic
I wonder what the longest distance travelled before a parent cancelled the trip and actually turned the car around is. It’s not that big of a deal if you were going to McDonald’s. 500 miles into a drive to Disney World would really leave an impact.

Ok. I REALLY want to see this strip animated all transformers the movie style. I actually laughed out loud, and I don’t do that often for strips.
In fact I’ve read it four times, and each time I start to laugh again. I think I’ll scroll up and read it one more time.
Hahaha, it would be funny to see that car burst open like that. ๐
I think this is the origin of the legendary “500 Miles” song. They drove 500 miles, and then they turned the car around and drove 500 more, and went back home.
Suddenly… the song is not half as romantic as it used to be.
Lol! That happens in a movie I watched the other day…I think it was machete kills. A weapon turned things inside out and it turned an SUV inside out and the people inside it, as well.
I have never turned the car around, but my dad did, frequently, for no discernable reason.
“Oops, sorry, pressed the wrong switch, I meant to turn on the air conditioner…”
It gets great milage in this mode, because the odometer starts to spin sideways.
I enjoy looking at panel three.

[x] Car is going mach 9000
OK. So I’m back tonight with my daughter. She had a dream where she had mounted a death ray in a car and taken out the chicken crossing. It was ridiculous and funny and reminded me of this strip for some reason. So I shared it, and she laughed hysterically for several minutes saying “it doesn’t even make sense” over and over again. ๐
Hehehe
A friend of a friend was driving to Florida from southwest Missouri with his daughter to visit some folks last year and turned the car around something like an hour before getting to their destination. That vacation pretty much turned into a 20-hour highway marathon.
I am the daughter from Chrisโs post from 2013. It is 2019. I am still literally crying on the couch over how funny this strip is.
Yep. Checking in 8 years later. Not even a pandemic can kill the hilarity of this strip.
Loving the animated strips you are running on Tik Tok these days.
