#414 – Updated

I never went to Chuck E. Cheese’s when I was a kid. We had ShowBiz Pizza instead. I guess it was like an alternative universe Chuck E. Cheese’s with bears and gorillas. I was kind of sad when the 2 chains combined and converted all of the ShowBiz locations into Chuck E. Cheese’s. I miss that gorilla.

I… I remember BOTH chains when I was a kid in San Diego, CA! I think I only ever got to go to Chuck E. Cheese’s though.

I was at a little carnival somewhere in Illinois, and all the animatronic characters from ShowBiz were set up there. I almost cried at the nostalgia of seeing the Gorilla and all his friends perform again.

Who wants to eat at a restaurant that has a giant rat running around all over the place?

My family had a GREAT experience years ago in the San Diego Showbiz Pizza . . . great memories!

We had Showbiz as well.. I was flipping scared of that gorilla! Wouldn’t go into the “concert room” at all. I’d rather stay out with all the safe video games.

  6. What no one realizes is that the “E.” in Chuck E. Cheese stands for “Expectorate.”

Back in his top-hat wearing days,Chuck was a rat. Rats of the cartoon variety have attitude. Then, he became a mouse who dressed like a skate rat, less a large amount of ‘tude. Now, he looks like a rat again, one that touches all the food.

I never saw the appeal of the character as a kid and I`ve always loved cartoon animals like Bugs Bunny, etc. From what I`ve heard the pizza isnt very good there either. I do find the bowling for soup vocalist as the voice for the redesigned character kind of amusing.

I spent all my time hitting the skeeball jackpots, and buying out the prize vendors.
