#393 – Boned

Occasionally I’ll be home by myself and get so busy with work I lose track of time. I’ll turn around to leave my desk and nearly step on my dog that was quietly standing behind me. I’ll look at the clock to see what time it is and it’s always within 5 minutes of her normal dinner time.

  1. We’ve got a cat who has an uncanny grasp of time. He knows when it’s time to be fed. He knows when it’s one hour later and we’re supposed to let him out. (We have to separate him for a special diet,) and he knows when we’re going to get home or go to bed…

*My* internal chronometer isn’t that precise, and *I* have access to clocks.

Our internal chronometers aren’t that precise because we have clocks.

My parents had a dog that could peel bananas before eating them. Someone dropped one and he got hold of it before anyone else could rescue it. After figuring out the skin, he held it down with one paw, scratched it longways with the other, and pulled it open. We’d give him one as an occasional treat, and he loved them.

We had a dog that would open pea pods still on the vine. My mother was convinced me and my brother were doing it, until she happened to catch the dog in the act.

My dog harasses me whenever his food bowl is empty, starts barking at me and jumps on my chair, he also learned how to open the doors in my house, so he can go outside whenever he wants. his english skills very to, “Wanna go for a ride?”, “get your leash, look in the kitchen,” go for a walk, ” “Get a biscuit( he actually gets his own sometimes but prefers to be handed one) “get your toy,” and if he’s barking at someone I know while outside I can tell him to “Go in the house!” smart dog. 🙂
