If I built a time machine one of the things I would do would be to go back to the arcade I hung out at as a kid. I would turn on an audio recording device and slowly walk through the place a few times. That would be such a great ambient audio track to have to meditate to. I’ve heard some modern recreations but nothing can replace the unique sounds collage of my boyhood arcade.

It’s been a while, but once Fark had an article link about a guy who turned his den into a 80s-style arcade. A lot of detail work went into it. The games, lighting, graphics on the wall, even the proper carpeting. What really made it was he even had a recording of a busy arcade he could play over his sound system. Someone even supplied a couple of links to similar soundtracks. A well planned Googling might turn some up.

Didn’t Sonic the Hedgehog once warn kids against getting into washers? In one of those ‘sonic sez’ segments?
