It’s always best when you realize you are about to eat the last cookie. You can pause and enjoy the moment. The anticipation of the wondrous flavors you are about to experience. Instead of jamming it in your mouth and cookie-monstering it away so you can get to the next one.

No no, the question is what are the cookies eating before panel #1?
Why, forest elves, of course! The cookies, through power of will, command armies of ants from within the jar to invade the jar within the jar (within the jar) and capture forest elves to bring back to the cookie overlords to draw nutrition from.
Why do cookies need nutrition? So they can defend themselves from THAT BLOODY DRAGON! (After they defeat that pesky human)
Well technically the Dovahkin only absorbs the dragons souls, not the dragons themselves, so holding the the entire dragons in a jar would be pointless.
…? Wait, does that mean that dragons BAKE people? What, is there a recipe of sorts, or something?

A pinch of salt.”
