Chapter: Comic
It’s really cool how there are lots of little games and traditions that get passed down through the generations of children. Now that I’m an adult I wonder how wide spread the ones I did were and how far back into history they go. I suppose the concept of lava goes back to the beginning of the planet so this game probably dates back to the invention of children standing on inappropriate things.
Today’s Biff will open your eyes.

..Impressive drawing of fire. I really could not have drawn that. Fire’s hard to draw.
My family has a game that’s passed down that’s called “Chasies”. It’s essentially “Tips” with a different name, and it got me and my siblings hassled to no end when we used it in school. But “The Floor Is Lava” was one of my favorites… Right after standing on the coffee table with my sister, screaming at the top of my lungs: “DADDY SAID NO STANDING ON THE TABLE, THE TABLE THE TABLE ~ ” to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb.

WHY DIDN’T HE LISTEN?! OH WHY GOD, WHY?
I laughed at the comic and then laughed again when I saw that the kids were smiling at their parent being on fire 🙂
This is how I always interpret it when I was a kid… Lol, my dad was on fire :D!
I’m disturbed by how cheerful the children look in that last panel.
as an only child I could and can only imagine the fun it was to have siblings.
and that’s what imaginary friends are for ^^;; or stuffed animals… cousins work too if they live close enough…
FIRE!
Seriously, never did play such games with my sister, but the neighborhood kids, that was another story.
In school we play “The Floor Is Lava!” Its really cool because when someone yells it out everyone runs all around, jumping on peoples backs, and in other peoples lockers. Its awesome.
You: Jumps on friends back
Friend: Falls over and starts to “burn up”
You: 🙂
we played a game with the glider swing that sharks were getting us and used paddles like toy bowling pins and brooms. I’m the oldest of four. We were always playing weird games like that.
Heh, I used to play pirates with my neighbors. I would be at the helm(we had a wheel. awesome, right?) but the sharks would attack, and we’d use the swings to make the ship go faster,,, it was so much fun.

ONE!

Where we used to live, there were a lot of bicycle paths attached to paths, so we would walk on the line separating the two and pretend we were tightrope walkers walking about shark-infested waters.
Slightly related point.
TV shows that show acts like tightrope walking over shark infested waters. They say “Don’t try this at home”
So, try it at a friend’s home!
This game is far better when your carpet is red. I would know XD
