“Why do you still wear glasses Harry? I’m sure Hermione could magic up a pair of fresh eyes for you. Just ask nicely.”
I remember hearing the “8 glasses of water” thing when I was a kid and being concerned. How could I possibly drink that much! Then I realized the loophole was that they didn’t say how big the glass was. There were these tiny ones in the cabinet that my parents only got out when they had their friends over. I can drink 8 of those in just a few minutes!
I’ve been watching some old TV shows with the sound off lately. It’s interesting the things I notice when I’m not distracted by the dialog. There’s a character in McHale’s Navy that wears glasses. They appear to be actual glasses in all of the far away shots but they are just empty frames in all of his closeups. It’s now a game for me. Checking out who on TV is wearing empty frames.
I saw lots of spaceships and weird blobby monsters. If I concentrated enough I could influence what they did and what shapes they made. I was bummed out when we got our enormous 22″ set. The screen went blue whenever there wasn’t a signal. I was a little sad about that.
I sometimes have extra bad eyesight for a few days. Either I’m not getting enough sleep or I’m dehydrated or something like that. Fortunately it’s happened enough that I no longer panic and think I’m days away from losing my vision. Just gotta get more than 4 hours of sleep for a few days in a row!
I’ve worn glasses since 2nd grade. I was one of the first kids that my classmates knew that wore them. They liked to try on my glasses and were always shocked at what they saw. Little kids didn’t really understand how glasses worked.
“This is what everything looks like to you?! How can you even walk around?!”
They also figured that when my glasses were off I was “blind”, meaning that everything literally turned to black.
