I love tattoos. I really like mine.
But, getting a tatt above the neckline or below the wristline makes it harder to get jobs that don’t include the phrase “Would you like fries with that?” Not saying it’s right or fair, just that it happens.
I like tattoos, and most people I’ve met seem to like my tattoos, or at least think that they are OK. The only thing that bothers me, though, is when people happen to see one of my tattoos (it’s always the same one of them), and think that it’s fake, or just a temporary tattoo or a sticker or something.
Yes, this is what happens if you get a tattoo of a cartoon character where the edges are “too” clear and the color is “too” evenly filled in. The quality is “too good” for a cartoon character tattoo, so it looks like a sticker on my arm. Not that I’m complaining about this, though! 😀

Most of our senior development and sysops staff have tattoos. I love my office.
