#615 – Jamming

I was kicked out of my apartment back when I was in college. The house I was living in was purchased by a guy that wanted to convert it back into a single family home. One night, all 4 tires on my car were slashed. I had to buy new tires so that I didn’t lose my job but then I couldn’t afford rent on the 1st of the month. I came home from work and all my stuff was haphazardly jammed into a couple boxes in the hallway.

    “Who was that Jerk?”
“That was Jason Jerk, our landlord.”
    “Oh. He seems nice.”
“Yes, he is. It’s a shame we’ll have to destroy him.”

the hard part will be dealing with the “items” buried in the backyard.

I’ve had similar experience with unscrupulous landlords. In one case, I got “evicted” after the fact… we had a $4800 deposit, and they were suing us for months that had yet to happen. Even the judge raised an eyebrow on that one.
Similarly, it seems I have only recently been evicted from a house I have not lived in for two years. Apparently, I was ‘served’ notice to appear in court and as I failed to appear, judgement was against me for something like $4200. I have to show up in another state entirely to argue the settlement… difficult to do when I have no form of transportation aside from my own two feet.
