Hey, it’s my birthday! (technically yesterday) Wee! My favorite thing to get on my birthday is new readers! Know anybody that likes jokes? Send them an email, post a link on Facebook, send a tweet, post a comic on reddit or tumblr or your favorite message board, print out a comic and hang it up at work! As long as you don’t break any laws or make anyone angry I’ll have an extra happy birthday! Thanks!
I think the worst paper cut I got was between my fingers. It’s a sensitive spot that is constantly being stretched and flexed. I’m cringing right now remembering it.

My very first paper cut was under the fingernail of my dominant hand’s index finger. (i.e. the most sensitive finger) Huh; That’s an experience I didn’t know I remembered…
Hurt like the dickens it did.
I’ve actually had papercuts on both of my eyeballs. Once clean cut across the white, hurt for a few hours, but healed pretty quickly, and one scrape across the pupil. That one I had to wear an eyepatch for a couple of weeks. Hurt like HELL for days.

i’ve never had a paper cut on my eye before, but i can related entirely 🙁
i was grinding down a clam hoe (i was a shellfisherman at the time) and a spark (red-hot metal shard) flew into my eye. it cauterized instantly so aside from a brief burn it was painless.
fast forward 6 months and i developed a recurring erosion of my cornea. once every few months i’ll blink or squint or look in a strange direction and WHAMO the scar tissue that covers the old wound will tear off and i’ll be a screaming little girl balled up on the floor shaking like i’m finally giving up alcohol.
it’s been 7 years now – every time the ophthalmologist just says “you’ll be fine, these things generally heal and go away permanently within 12 months”…. i’m up over 80 months and counting.
on the bright side, each recurrence is a little more manageable than the last. i’m not sure if my tolerance for pain is increasing or if the pain is dulling a bit. each time it’s the most painful thing i can imagine experiencing but somehow the most recent dozen episode were all easier to deal with than the previous dozen…

My ex-wife once got a paper cut on her eye from a Taco Bell wrapper… then got hot sauce in it from the napkin. Is it evil of me to laugh whenever I think about it?
