But wait… the prophecy spoke of popcorn. “The bag will unfurl at the end of the world!” I’m making a hot dog! We are going to be okay! It’s a hot dog!
(The Earth then explodes for unrelated reasons)

I find the ding at zero annoying, so I usually stop it early.
Does it count if you’re only reheating? I also hate to cook in the microwave – I like cooking.
I’m the opposite, I hate to have numbers left over on the microwave, and I don’t see the point of setting the time for longer than you’ll know you’ll need…
Is the “if it’s two and not one” a quote from somewhere?
Does the Prophecy include the usual “Microwaves and wattage may vary, so times are approximate” warning?
I imagine everyone is avoiding the completion beep. My last microwave could be stopped at 00:00 if you timed it just right, but the beep would go off on those.
This reminds me of Bender’s nightmare of the number 2. ( He’s a robot, he thinks in binary( 1,0s). )
Half the time, I go do something else. The dings are muffled in the next room. As long as I didn’t set 20 minutes instead of 2, and the smoke alarm brings me back…
But then it’s tough trying to convince daughters NOT to leave when something’s on the stove.
Our microwave’s sound can be turned off, fortunately.
Also, it’s pretty annoying when other people leave time on the microwave. I try to press the time _I_ want and nothing happens.
