Once when we were little, my uncle came to visit, and remembers waking up on the couch to see five kids staring at him. He thought “Isn’t there just (at the time) three kids running around?” My parents had a portrait of my sisters made and the way he was laying, it was on the wall behind us, and at the right height for the girls’ faces to peek just over our heads. If Uncle wasn’t hung-over at the time, he wouldn’t have spent twenty minutes trying to count toddlers in his head.
I babysat with my cousin’s oldest when she was 5 months. It was almost hypnotizing to just sit there and watch her sleep. She was a beautiful, happy baby and watching her do anything was fun. Now she’s 20, saying hello if we’re in the same house at the same time is as good as it gets.

“I’m trying to sleep! Bugger off!”
