Chapter: Comic
I think whenever I wish for a force field of some sort to protect me from something I never remember to account for my need to breathe. If I’m making up a pretend force field in my head why can’t is also magically create a breathable atmosphere? Maybe a force field with a snorkel?

What you need is a force web with micrometer-sized spaces.
because it’s too much work to wish for a semi-permeable membrane, as opposed to a simple bubble.
I hadn’t thought about air. I just thought they couldn’t get out, and died of thirst/starvation. And nobody noticed until Spring
That’s what I thought. Trapped, especially considering the “Next spring” thing. But yeah, a breathable forcefield is just as great as a removable forcefield.
They were trapped with ants. Everything was fine until the picnic basket was empty.
I always figured moveable force fields would be dumb, they would contain you, unable to do anything as your opponent used you as a giant baseball. But then You remember the force field activates in a certain arc from where you set the activation spot, and that your severed limbs and incinerated hairline were crossing its path.
So did they die of suffocation, starvation/dehydration, or being cooked alive?
I always wondered why on Star Trek they had to lower their shields to fire at the Klingons and others. Now I understand, what can’t come in also can’t go out.
So, they couldn’t dig their way out? The force field was completely spherical then? Shame.
There’s a similar problem with cloaking fields. If any light gets bent around you you cannot see anything outside. You’re floating in a pitch-black bubble. No one can see you, but that also means that you can’t see them either.
Somehow fiction never accounts for that.
