I always destroyed my sand castles when it was time to go home. I spent a lot of time and effort to build it. I can’t just leave it sitting there for some other kid to smash!

That’s why you set a Burmese Tiger Trap under your castle when you build it.
naw, Siberian Tigers, and a mother snow leopard are worse. trust me.
I am in complete agreement with your logic on this one. Alternatively I would dig deep, hard to see holes adjacent to the castle to hopefully give any castle-destroyers an unwanted surprise.
