I loved taking bubble baths when I was a kid. When I was old enough to be in charge of my own bath I was extremely wasteful. As soon as the bubble level dropped a few inches below the rim of the tub I would let half the water out, dump in a bunch more bubble liquid and fill the tub back up. I was a bubble maniac.

It’s however you want to read it. The joke is not gender based.
It could just as well be two men or two women. But at least the two in this strip (of whatever gender(s)) seem to have known each other before ending up in the same bath tub.
well, if they did know each other, then it seems they didn’t know each other that well.
