Chapter: Comic
I loved crazy straws as a kid. It was always a disappointment when we would go out to a restaurant and they would only have those pedestrian bendy straws. At least they would come wrapped in paper so I could get that extra 1 second enjoyment out of shooting it across the table at my brother. Unfortunately for my mom, those things were hard to aim accurately.

Your mother, and the guy sitting at the next table with the CRAZY glint in his eye.
What’s up with those waiters who would purposely leave you with the bit of the straw wrapper that couldn’t possibly become a projectile, while discarding all the rest?
While they do have a legitimate reason (being able to put the straw in the drink without actually touching the straw itself, and/or marking a drink to avoid mixing them up), I kinda wish they’d just leave the whole wrapper itself. I don’t even use the straw, I just shoot the wrapper. ^_^;;
Paper wrapped straws…At some of the places where I used to eat, they’d leave a little on the top and would just crumple it up to play soccer with my fingers.
I think my love of crazy straws originated from the movie Killer Klowns from Outer Space. The evil clowns used them to drink blood out of people coated in cotton candy. I still don’t know why I’m not more messed up.
A silly straw? I had one of those once…
‘a mildly amusing spectacle, popular with children’, at least according to the Wikipedia page on drinking straws.
I used to have a collection of them, but I never tried drinking coffee through one.
