#626 – Ethics

Chapter: Comic
It’s funny how vegetarians are now something people can get angry about. If they don’t eat meat for health reasons then they are pitied. “I’m so sorry you can’t enjoy this amazing burger with me!” If they choose to be vegetarian because of ethical reasons it’s now an attack. “Stop looking at me when I try to enjoy my burger! Stop smelling my bacon!”

I like to freak vegetarians out when they’re eating beans, seeds or fruits: “Why are you eating that poor plant’s innocent babies!!??”
@McGehee I would replace fruit with ovary, and seeds with (suspended animation) fetuses.
But remember, it’s the vegetarians who are the pushy, judgmental, obnoxious people. *eyeroll*
“You eat plants because you hate them? Doesn’t that make you a murderer too?”
“Nah, I don’t kill plants. I just hack pieces off them and let them suffer. So, totally not a murderer.”
If you hate plants, shouldn’t you eat more meat, since it takes more plants to feed the animals you eat than to feed you? Better yet, eat carnivores.
I remember a t-shirt that said “If cows could, they’d eat you.”
Is it just me, or does “Stop smelling my bacon!” sound like a euphemism? …a naughty euphemism.
I just think they’re hypocrites. “I’m a vegetarian because i don’t like the idea of killing animals for food”.
But it’s ok to kill a plant for food. Just because the plant doesn’t fight back, or doesn’t show it’s hurt, or doesn’t make you feel bad about it…
But you still kill it.
My favorite quote for this may be a little obscure. “don’t think the radish can’t feel pain just because you can’t hear it scream”.
