#453 – Branned

The goal was always to have 1 raisin left for the last bite of cereal. It was tricky. Sometime I would get distracted and mess it up. Sometimes I would be too conservative and have 4 leftover. I could have enjoyed those 10 bites ago!

lol, you too eh? yeah, that Raisin bran was tricky to eat. Even harder was wehn you got down the bottom of the box, and if you hadn’t been carefully mixing the cereal all the way along, at the bottom you’d get bowls of almost nothing but raisins, along with a few bran flakes.

    Raisins and milk. Good times.

  3. I’m probably a heretic, but I’ve been known to buy plain bran cereal, and a carton of raisins, and…mix to taste.

    Forgive me!

      What is there to forgive?

The other day I had like 20 raisins for the last 2 bites of my bowl. Too much. I’m dreading the lack of raisins when I get to the bottom of the box.

And here I’ve been buying raisin brains!

When I was young I went through a box of Kellogg’s Raisin Bran that advertised “Two scoops of raisins! NOW with even MORE raisins!”

In the entire box there were only about five raisins.

I figured that there was a mistake in assembling the cereal — that the two scoops of raisins was somehow not put in the box, but the extra raisins were. If that was true, then that meant that the “even MORE raisins” was only about five raisins per box.

    #SOLVED#
The raisins settle during shipping. Before you serve your box of raisin bran*, open the box top, remove the /still sealed/ inner bag, flip it over, and put it bag in the box. Open the bottom of the bag (*now the top) and serve. As the ceral settles during use, the raisins that settled to the bottom get pretty evenly dispersed back through the box and you don’t end up with pure bran or pure raisins in the last bowl.

    *Or equivalent.
