#415 – Static

Chapter: Comic
I saw lots of spaceships and weird blobby monsters. If I concentrated enough I could influence what they did and what shapes they made. I was bummed out when we got our enormous 22″ set. The screen went blue whenever there wasn’t a signal. I was a little sad about that.

I remember doing the same watching a grey frosted window when I was a kid (before TV was invented). Of course I had a temperature from measles at the time, which probably helped.
I stare at the patterns on textured walls, or in wood panels. I did it as a kid, and I still do it.
There’s a dinosaur on the wall across from my bed that is very, very angry all the time.
There is a dog in my shower wall that is always watching.
It’s interesting to note that about 1% of the static is actually Cosmic Background Radiation. At any given second at least 10 pixels on the screen are showing radiation from the BIG BANG!
Get a older TV, color, black and white, big, little, whatever you can get your hands on, as long as you can get static.
Take a pair of cheap sunglasses (ZZ Top riff goes here), and take one lens out, or look through one side.
Stare at the static.
Go look up Pulfrich Effect on the Internet.
Scrambled Hypnotoad
me and my brother always called them “ants fighting” and we’d argue over with color was winning the fight.
