I think ill provide clarification dishes referrers to bowls,plates and other types of stuff you use to eat food out of that’s why at restaurants where you have courses most tend to refer to a food item as a dish so plates and bowls are both dishes but if you want a specific dish refer to the dish by its name like this comic instead of dishes he should have said plates
