But think of how much we could learn! Right now there are many questions about what makes people sad, and someday a sad robot may help us discover causes. My guess is it will turn out “created by cruel researchers” but for now it is only a guess.
Aside from mental disorders introduced by us not knowing what we are doing, and potentially by a mind existing without a body of stimulus, I’m at a loss as to why everyone assumes true A.I. is supposed to be so widly different than any other type of parenting. If you raise an intelligence in a healthy loving environment you get healthy well adjusted people, if you neglect or abuse it you sometimes get socio and psycho paths or other severely disturbed minds. (this is as a general rule, all usuall caveats and hand waving apply.)
