If a child asks you how honey is made, show them this comic and they will know they shouldn’t come to you with questions anymore.
Also, comments are currently broken! I don’t know why! I’ll try to fix it!
I’ve never watched Breaking Bad. I don’t do well with stressful TV or movies. They mess up my day and sleeping patterns.
There were a lot of myths that I believed about flying insects as a kid. Like bees will attack you if you wear yellow. The best was that a dragonfly can sting you 72 times. Where the heck “72” evolved from I’ll never know.
My son learned a lot about bees recently. He went and saw a demonstration by a beekeeper and got to see a hive and a queen up close. He asked me if I had ever been stung by a bee and what it was like. I honestly told him that for me it’s always more of a surprise than anything. I described in detail the 3 times I remember being stung. The next day he proudly announced to his mom “I think that bee stung me!” Her response was “Oh no, you definitely didn’t get stung. When a bee stings you you will know because it really, really hurts!!!” Now he’s terrified and refuses to go outside.
Setting your phone to vibrate is a good way to be alerted that someone is contacting you without disturbing others. But if you set your phone down on something large and hollow it can actually buzz louder than your ringtone would have. The best is when someone would set their phone down on a conference table at an important meeting. Everyone stops to look at that loud buzzing phone. You can pretend it’s not you when there’s a quiet ringtone chirping from your pocket.
I’ve been stung by bees and wasps a few times. I’m not allergic so it’s really not that bad. Surprising maybe but not really painful. I need to keep this in mind next time there is a bee in the car. Any minor accident would be much more traumatic.
