My dog really flips out when there is a fly in the house. She chases and jumps at it. Amazingly I’ve seen her catch one out of mid air more than once.

Don’t fear the reaper!
My sister-in-law’s old cat liked to hunt down grasshoppers. She’d finally catch one, eat it, spazz out and throw it up, then go hunt another one. That ingrained predator instinct really can be a tough thing to have, I guess.
Our terrier is the same way! She doesn’t usually catch them, but that may partly be the fault of the other two dogs trying to play with her whenever she growls at the flies while she hunts.
My dog does it too! Unfortunately in her 10 years she still hasn’t learned the difference between flies and wasps 🙁
