I once baked a birthday cake as a surprise for my wife. For some reason it didn’t occur to me that the surprise would be revealed the instant se walked in the door. She took one step into the house and “You baked me a cake!”

Yes but I should have just had the cake out for her to see then instead of hidden to surprise her later. 🙂

“Correction: I tried to bake you a cake. Also, the fire in the kitchen is finally out!”
