#208 – Brunch

Chapter: Comic
I have spent many hundreds of visits to McDonalds unsuccessfully purchasing from their breakfast menu. They have changed the cut off time over the years and I think some individual restaurants will have their own schedule. Whatever it is I will arrive there 5 minutes too late. 5 minutes late means all the breakfast menu signage is still up. Taunting me. Make just one more McMuffin!
Today’s Biff is in deep.

This is why Waffle House > McDonald’s
Yep, any item on the menu, any time of day. Of course, I’m more likely to be looking for lunch at breakfast time. (I work the graveyard, plus I’m not all that crazy about breakfast-type food any time of day.) Plenty of places serve breakfast all day, but Waffle House is just about the only place around here when I can get a cheeseburger and bowl of chili at seven in the morning.
This is the third reason why Jack in the Box is the only fast food I ever eat.
You just gave me a great idea for a restaurant that will most likely fail spectacularly.
And what would that be?
I was once told at a cafe that they were out of iced tea.
“Do you have tea?” “Yeah.”
“Do you have ice?” “…yeah.”
“I WOULD LIKE SOME ICED TEA.”
On weekends I frequent a cafe that only serves breakfast.
Of course, they close at 1pm,* so I suppose breakfast is all they have time for…
*(They open at 5:30am for the early traffic)
While in tropical climes, I enjoyed ordering off the McDonalds regional specials menu, and having for breakfast an egg McPuffin.
Hey Chris,
92% of McDonald’s restaurants are franchised. The franchisee determines the hours of operation and change-over time.

I should add that the 10:30 change-over is quite stupid IMHO. No one is going to order lunch between 10:31 and 11:00.
one of the many many reasons I never visit McDonalds
The opposite is quite as stupid. A school I worked at started pretty early, and their lunch time would start at 10:45 and end at noon — I arrived once at the drive-thru at 10:55 to be told that they hadn’t started making lunch yet and to come back… in five minutes.
When in doubt, make your own route!
I have the opposite problem. I always want from their normal menu right when it’s only breakfast. “Ill take two double cheese burgers,” “Sir it’s only breakfast.” “I don’t want breakfast.” 🙁
where i come from muffins count as pastry (you know, like cake), not as breakfast, so you can have one whenever they’re in that plastic thingy at the counter, heheh…
It sucks when you’re second or third shift and your 5:00PM is 11 at night.
*cracks a beer*
“You still drinking?”
“I just got home!”
