“I never got to really suffer as a kid!”

“Yeah, that’s actually an okay thing for kids to not have to do – but again, just a doctor, your kid your call…”

    1. maarvarq says:

“Your kid, your call” – not when it comes to helping to spread highly contagious diseases that can have serious effects on some unlucky recipients, no it is not.

      1. his boogness says:

Agreed – helping to spread highly contagious diseases is everyone’s job.

  2. Kazriko says:

I wasn’t sheltered as a kid, but I did get my vaccinations. My kid has the same, though is a bit more sheltered, but I want to let him do more.

  3. Chris says:

Only in America. In the UK, children can be put into safer hands if their parents are ignorant enough to refuse vaccination.

    1. DarkOverord says:

Well except for that time recently where Wales had a Measles epidemic and ran out of vaccinations because everyone realised how daft it all was 😛 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_Swansea_measles_epidemic

  4. MrGBH says:

I never got to swim in shark infested waters with slabs of meat strapped to my arse when I was a kid.

  5. R. E. Hunter says:

I never had measles, but I had mumps, which is covered by the same MMR vaccine. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. My lymph glands were so swollen that taking a tiny sip of water was excruciatingly painful. I lived on nothing but warm broth for about two weeks.

  6. Arabesque says:

I got my vaccines when I was a kid, and with all the news of the anti-vaxxers appearing, and my parents beginning to agree with them, I’m sure as heck glad I got my vaccines before all of this idiotic anti-vaxxer bs showed up.

  7. Raza says:

The funny thing is that the parents holding ‘measles parties’ are doing the exact same thing as vaccinating their kids, except in a much more dangerous way. They accept the science behind acquired immunity, but just fear the scientists.

  8. WitUnderPressure says:

kinda reminds me of Ned Flanders’s parents:

“We tried nothin’ and we’re all outta ideas, man!”

  9. Falos says:

Every business, store, office, school, library, hospital, restaurant, etc. will also get a final word. About signs that say NO LEPERS and refuse to let your kid in.

Gotta respect their choice, and all that.

  10. Lauren says:

This hits different in 2021. Kind of like a wrecking ball to the brain.
