I can sleep easier tonight knowing that there is probably not a dimension containing a bird/rabbit army plotting revenge on us for banishing (vanishing?) them from our world. Thanks Chris!

Ha! Reminds me of the book ‘Lovely Assistant’ – the truth about what happens to all the mice Calvin throws into his hat is exactly as disturbing as you think. Maybe more. (There’s a hint on the book cover.)

From my initial glance of the comic (in which I try to avoid seeing the final panel, but don’t always succeed), I thought this was going to be a portal opened up from a dryer to the dimension where the single socks go.

_Hammerspace_ is full of hammers for a variety of settings, but also has a large number of anvils and frying pans. You’ll find some pencils and scraps of paper, magnifying glasses, maybe headphones/music players, and a wide range of costumes/disguises.

miles and miles of colored silk handkerchiefs

I’m reminded of a marvelous scene in, I think Spellbound, where one of the characters is introduced to Edison’s ghost phone. In that book’s universe he’d succeeded in making it.

The problem was, you couldn’t really pick who you got on the other end, so most of the calls were to the random restless spirits off of the street. As one of the characters put it, he made a phone to hell; the boring parts of hell.
