When I was a kid I remember all the snacks we gave my dog were manmade simulations of things dogs would like. Lots of different “meat flavored” bone shaped things. Our current dog gets the actual items. It weirded me out the first time I went to that section of the pet store. It looked like a horror movie butcher set.

Make no bones about it, a cat would have been a better choice for a pet.
How about those big beef bones, coated with some strange red goop, vacuum-sealed for dogs? I’ve been tempted to get a couple of those, some rib bones from my uncle’s BBQ place, and a plastic skull, and toss them in a pile in my neighbor’s yard, just to see what happens.
