I’m surprised nobody has tried to actually sell DVDs like this yet.
As a side note, TV Tropes has an entry, “Too Incompetant To Operate A Blanket.” I worry that there are companies that actually think their customer base are really that klutzy.
Have you ever watched an infomercial? Judging from the way people struggle to perform such complicated tasks as peeling a potato, one can only assume that they’re literally too dumb to walk and chew gum at the same time. Then again, anybody that stupid probably couldn’t operate a telephone to order the product, so apparently the advertisers don’t quite believe their own hype. Or else they just haven’t quite thought it through…
It’s almost as though they paid actors to purposefully look ridiculous!
It might just be my DVD player, but my downloaded movies play way better.

I rarely stream in the first place. My kind is scornful.
I’ve bought a new DVD — that froze about ten minutes into the movie. And I wasn’t the only one — pretty much everyone who bought that particular movie was having the same problem. Turns out that the code that took you to that particular part of the movie in “Scene Selection” was defective and it screwed with the player’s software. (It wasn’t a hugely popular movie so I’m not sure that the defect was widely publicized.)
I like special features, but I only buy DVDs of movies that I really like and would have a desire to see the behind the scenes stuff. All the rest is either downloaded or Netflix.
Ugh, DVDs always scratch, I’ll stick with my Netflix
