Chapter: Comic
My son’s first exposure to the Mario Bros characters was Mario Kart. Then it was Mario Party. In these games most of the characters are playable at some point. His 3rd game was New Super Mario Bros Wii. This was a little frustrating for him. If he plays by himself he can ONLY be Mario. The worst crime in his eyes is that he can’t play as Princess Peach. Mario, Luigi and Peach are his 3 favorites but now in this newest game for him she’s just a prize instead of the character he likes to pretend to be.

Try Super Paper Mario (RPG-Platformer) for Wii. He can play as Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Luigi.
Try Super Mario Bros. 2 (platformer) on Wii console(?). He can play as Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad.
Try Super Mario RPG for Wii Console(?). He can play as Mario, Peach, Bowser, and other minor characters.
Try Super Smash Bros Brawl for Wii, where he can play a whole roster of characters.
Cool, thanks for the list! Like I said, he already had 2 games where he could play nearly any character he wanted. This made New Super Mario Bros Wii seem abnormally restrictive.
Your question mark by Super Mario Bros 2 seems to indicate that you don’t know what system it was on originally. I shall now remedy this: Super Mario Bros 2 was originally for the NES.
Also along the same lines Super Mario RPG was for the SNES.
That last line, about how she’s just a prize? EXCELLENT SUMMARY OF THE PROBLEM.
Thanks Howard. 🙂
Izzat sorta like Trophy Wives? Ugh.
I think Mario’s gonna jump on his head…
The daughter is in another bedroom.
DANG IT! I’M TOO LATE!
Well, this particular page was fairly brilliant.
Thanks 🙂
I know what you mean. My first Mario game was Super Mario Brothers 2, so I often played either as Peach or Toad. So it was disappointing when I got my Super Nintendo and could only play Mario World as Mario.
