#482 – Boring

Sometimes I get an attack of yawns that I can’t seem to stop or any reason. No matter how inappropriate, the yawns will keep coming. I can’t tell if the yawns are going into my body or if they are escaping. Congrats if you could read this strip without yawning. I think it got me about 12 times while drawing it.

I was yawning while clicking the link. Kinda spooky when the page loaded.

    *yawn*

In every job I have ever had, I have had coworkers who would get mad at me for yawning. I just didn’t know how to tell them nicely that the reason I was yawning was because talking to them was so boring.

Went to bed very early and slept in. No yawns so far. Yay me!
As soon as I typed Yay Me! the yawn hit, darnit!

I read somewhere (I’m bad at citations) that yawning has a social function, and that’s why they are contagious. Seemingly it comes from before language, and it basically meant, let’s go do something. So now whenever someone in our family yawns, making another yawn, the second says “let’s go kill a mammoth!”
