#473 – Funnel

I seem to recall having to throw up a lot more when I was a kid. Now it seems like it’s reserved for the rare occasion of food poisoning. My last incident was at my wedding reception. Not for the cliché of drinking too much. Instead I was hungry and ate a huge amount of some weird cheese spread from the snack table at 1AM that had been sitting there since noon.

I apologize to anyone that was eating as they came across this comic. Best to click over to one of my other comics now and not read the comments below that will inevitably follow the same subject matter.

Damned straight I was eating….and yogurt, too.

There was that joke about the guy who saw another nearly passed out and he hadn’t finished his chili…..

It’s the same for me; I have vague memories of throwing up as a little kid, but I can’t remember the last time I actually puked. Not that I’m complaining.

When someone is feeling really queasy, I’ve found the old trick really works! If you offer them a big, juicy piece of Salt Pork, they will go off.

Yep, same for me. I’ve vomited four times in my adult life. Twice were after general anesthesia, and the other two times were from conditions (infection and blockage) that both required hospitalization.

  5. Azkyroth says:

Almost the only times I throw up are when I have some kind of illness, I wake up with my throat sticky, and I clear it too vigorously. >.>

I went a couple decades without barfing. I don’t seem to remember it being so bad as a kid, maybe because I had parents to take care of me. I always seemed to pass really fast.

Then a few years ago I got food poisoning and had reverse dinner all night. Then last year I caught some kind of bug from my nephew, and spent a whole day firing out both ends. Being sick as an adult really sucks!

  7. When my menstrual cramps are really bad, I throw up from the pain. That’s happened twice, I think.

I throw up from overexertion occasionally. But it probably won’t happen anymore. I think the trainer finally understands that me and the rowing machine DO NOT get along.

I’ve barfed four times since I was a little kid. Once was from some bad food and I lost it while brushing my teeth before getting on the school bus in 8th grade; once was during “the gallon challenge” my senior year; once was after doing some “centrifuge” experiments on local park equipment (using people as counterweights of course…). The most recent vomit was from an adhesive bowel obstruction that appeard after a very large meal after a hot day of work. I think I downed 3 quarts of cold water and an entire bag of those freezer-aisle chicken wads. Woke up at 5AM and ALL OF IT was quite painfully still in my stomach. So I vomited enough that I had to stop and catch my breath, then barfed out as much again. Then got up two hours later and did it again. So much barf I was afraid the toilet was gonna spill over. Seriously. Gallons.
