Chapter: Comic
The way my life is set up right now I don’t watch television very often. When I do watch it feels very foreign and confusing. Lots of yell talking and ridiculous invented drama. Sesame Street was a much different show when I was a kid.

Wait until you slam your eyeballs up against the new Loony Tunes show.
I haven’t had TV for 12 years.
I always remember the shows of my youth being more carefully scripted and the actors having much more skill in their craft.
Then, I catch a rerun at a friend’s house and sit in wonder at how my memory has lied to me.
I love TV, always have, always will. When you can’t go outside because of the weather and your mother’s fear and the doctor and your mother won’t let you read because of the stupid thing that happened to your eye, the only thing left is TV.
Why Mom and the doctor thought reading would hurt my eyes and TV wouldn’t – no idea, but it saved my 9 yr old sanity.
I no longer have cable or satellite, and I don’t even watch the over-the-air stuff, but I’m actually watching more TV shows than ever through Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. The plus side though is that I’m generally watching better shows now than I used to.
