#313 – Spicy

I enjoy spicy foods but I don’t eat them very often. Nobody else in my house likes them so I lose out. Occasionally we’ll make some elaborate nachos at home and my wife will pick up a jar of pickled and sliced jalapeños for me. I like 1 slice on each bite.

My cousin eats banana peppers out of the jar – caste iron mouth and stomach. Her then 20 month old kept trying to grab one so she finally gave it to her. The kid ate it and with a sweet look of delight said, “More.” The kid is strange.
Only banana peppers? those things are nice!
When my older brother was young he had a habit of reaching onto a cutting board while my mother was using it to snack on whatever she was cutting, until one day she was cutting jalapenos. After that day he never tried again!
Of course now he’s as much of a spice freak as me, so it can’t have been too traumatic.
Only one!? I like as many as the chip can hold and still have some room for some of the other toppings.
Burning is when some food has a high temperature that it leaves lasting damage in the mouth well into the next day. (There is also the case of chemical burn which is just dumb IMHO.) Spicy has flavor. As with all flavors, it can be washed out of the mouth. (Give that some thought when you’re eating something that isn’t spicy, and you’ll see it fits the same criteria.) This is clearly about spicy food. I am also singled out in the household and among all my friends. However, it seems that only I have a cast-iron stomach and no allergies to such.
At least the sausage gets to be well-done.

I keep a bottle of sriracha in the fridge. I use it like ketchup.
At this point I must wonder how many flaming skulls have been in the various comics. Are you secretly a certain Mortal Kombat character Chris?
I’m a pussie when it comes to eating hot stuff. I can even eat wasabi I’m that bad. Heck even Tabasco sauce is to much for me.
