#285 – SMS

I stopped using SMS around 2005 or so. I have a few friends that are just getting around to using it now and occasionally send me messages. It’s always confusing because I first have to look up the number to see who the heck it is. I stopped knowing people’s phone numbers around 2005 or so.

Funny, I have thought since my first mobile that they always show the person’s name instead of their number. I stopped knowing people’s phone numbers at that instant, late 90s.

If you add your friends’ phone numbers into your address book, then the SMSes should show who the message is from. If not, you might want to get a phone made sometime this century.

That depends. I have relatives who seem to change phones, and thus numbers, on a semi-regular basis. I know, and tell them they could keep the same cell number, but they still say. “why don’t you call?” “I did, but I couldn’t get through.” “Oh, let me give you my new number…” Which explains why I sometimes get texts that seem nonsensical at first.
