#106 – Pulp

Paper cuts never seem to get any less shocking or painful. I think every paper cut I’ve had is worse than and shot I’ve received. I’m glad there is no medical procedure that involves getting a paper cut.

“Okay, hold still… this will sting for about 3 days.”

Today’s Biff is breathless.

That’s why he uses the TelePrompTer!

  2. Michael says:

I like to imagine little paper filaments embedding in the walls of the cut skin as it slides through.

  3. Sven says:

You probably already know this, but the reason a paper cut is more painful than a deep cut is because it only damages the nerves, whereas anything deeper severs them preventing the pain from lasting.

  4. Micah says:

Wow. This comic has really good timing considering the address about Osama Bin Ladin’s death and the fact that the teleprompter inventor died recently.

  5. ZeoViolet says:

That is one fired script writer. XD

  6. Josh says:

Though no matter the duration I have never had anything worse than the test for swine flu. (Just thinking about it makes my nose hurt)
For anyone who doesn’t know, they take a thin flexible plastic device and tickle your brain with it through your nose.

  7. Fussel says:

if you get a paper cut, get some medical alcohol. burns, but its over. and it wont get infected and all oozey.

  8. AA says:

@sven, I was told the reason is because you rarely put a bandage on a papercut, which keeps out all the dirt and grime that makes it sting. Whenever I put one on it never hurts as much as when I don’t. “destroying nerves” seems a little ridiculous, since nerves don’t grow back… it’s like saying, “you may feel a little pressure and get permanent nerve damage..”

  9. AA says:

@josh, I had H1N1 (They make a frickin’ huge deal about it.) The cold I have right now is much worse.

So did I, and I nearly died. Spent three weeks in a hospital.

  10. Radical Edward says:

well, I had a ear and sinus infection, pinched toes from wearing new shoes and I’m happy to hear bin Laden is no more.

I like how the paper multiplied

    1. Slogra says:

They thought the paper had been genetically engineered to be comprised entirely of females, but they also mixed in frog DNA. Some frogs can spontaneously change sex, and so we see that life finds a way.

  12. Cari says:

Foamcore board cuts are far worse than paper cuts.

  13. Chuck says:

    Cardboard cuts are horrible.

  14. Kree says:

I can’t recall ever getting a paper cut, I must have thicker skin. I’ve never being afraid of a paper edge.

Besides, paper cuts are nothing, I once lost a WHOLE fingernail when my finger tip got crushed by a log of wood. I had to wait until a whole new nail grew back to replace it! It looked nasty gross 😛

    1. Kree says:

Err, “been”, that is, not “being”. I gotta proof-read my words more often!

  15. Sicarius says:

The worst things ever are cardboard cuts. Paper cuts are nothing compared to those beasts.

  16. Radical Edward says:

I’ve had all kinds of cuts on my hands. I do arts and crafts.

  17. SurveySays says:

i got a paper cut from cardboard once. its about300x worse and it bleeds A LOT. it was a school christmas project. a large cardboard display of santa climbing down the chimney with my blood splatter was slightly morbid. Teacher: “What happned to santa??” Me: “Prancer beat the crap out of him.” the teacher thought it was funny so i didn’t get in trouble. i didn’t get a great grade but hey.

  18. Octothorpe says:

Half the time, paper cuts hurt even more when you don’t see it and it itches. *scratch, scratch.. YELP!
