#65 – Horizon

a few months ago I went to take dog outside for a walk at night and was surprised to find my neighbor standing in my driveway. It turns out she got an e-mail telling her to go outside that night because Mars was going to be so close to the earth it would appear to be larger than the moon. She was a little disappointed when I explained to her that the e-mail was a joke and that the Earth would certainly be destroyed if Mars suddenly came hurtling towards us like that. She just wanted to see cool giant planets in the sky.

Today’s Biff will find you a new home.

Also, if you are in Seattle, come and see me at the Emerald City Comicon starting Today!

The gender ambiguity was a little unbalancing for a sec. Still funny.

    1. Falos says:

I have failed to sufficiently underline how minimal and brief my curiosity was, as well as how unimpeded the joke was. I notice the commentary is assuming a couple, and has not yet mentioned the possibility of a son/daughter/stick child at the window.

I didn’t find the ambiguity unbalancing. :/ What would it matter what genders they are? It has no effect on the strip or punchline, if they’re male and female, two males, or two females.

And I admit, I normally don’t find Maximumble anywhere near as funny as Biff, but the last two days at least, I have lol’ed. :Db

I read the newspaper and I’m a girl. If I had a husband, I would definitely call him “dear” or “honey”.

    1. Chris says:

      Girls, that read? Preposterous!

I read. In fact, I used to read newspapers on a regular basis before I got hooked on writing my own novels.

Your username thing is Edward. You are either a male, or the worst vampire ever.

  4. Tedflip says:

This is kind of hard to understand, since one of them doesn’t look like a woman. But umm, does that mean that it was intentional to make them both men @_@!?

    lol.

  5. Sven says:

Am I the only one who is reminded of Bruce Almighty?

  6. Gwid says:

To be honest, I only noticed they were the same gender (in appearances, anyway) when I started reading the comments. I’m not really disturbed by that, it doesn’t make much of a difference.
I like how the world is cracked and shattered. Funny comic. The thing I noticed was the window. It’s hovering in midair – well, that was my first thought, anyway.

Sven: i wasn’t at first, but now that you mention it, yeah. that was a funny movie

  8. AmanoYuki says:

    @Sven – Haha, didn’t notice that!

  9. Centaur71 says:

The earth would just be vacuum-packed asteroids if that really happened; that’s why I like comics like this.
