Chapter: Comic
I feel sorry for people that have the job standing on the side of the road wearing a ridiculous costume holding a sign. It seems like I’ve never seen them in appropriate weather. I’m always driving past when I’m running the air conditioning full blast. It never makes me want to visit the business that is being advertised it just makes me angry that they are making this poor gorilla stand around in such horrible weather.

I would get a guy dressed as a blender to pay them a visit.
That would keep them silent.
A local tax preparer currently has some poor schmuck dressed as the Statue of Liberty walking around and waving in the snow and freezing rain. Makes my job seem slightly more bearable by comparison, I suppose…
I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE.
Wait, my town has that too!
There’s a guy who seems to do that job professionally. I’ve seen in at a few different places in the area around where I work. He’s an older guy, and he acts like he’s having an absolute blast. Lately he’s been outside a mattress store in a clown suit, complete with rainbow wig and over-sized sunglasses, dancin’ like he just didn’t even care. He’s kind of my hero.
I do kinda feel like that guy exists to keep the rest of us just satisfied enouth with our lot in life. Now if the suicide prevention people could team up with that guy..
I always wonder if the business in question just paid a homeless guy $100 to stand out on the corner with the business’ sign instead of the “homeless please help” sign
There’s a guy that hangs outside of the pizza place near my house with a cardboard guitar painted with ‘Pepperoni Pizza! Medium for $5 & Large for $10!’ He always has his ipod with him and acts like he’s playing the fake guitar. I bet he’d be pretty good if it was real.
One of my teachers told me that the job title for those people holding signs is a “human directional”.
My sisters shriek and blow kisses when we drive past the twenty-something guy who plays a cardboard guitar outdoors to advertise. He has a Facebook fan page and everything.
I always slump down in the seat if I’m riding with them so as not to be associated with such fanaticism.
Where I live stores (ok so its just one hair salon) get children to hold the signs. In the rain.
